Prayer Requests

Prayer

In the Bible we see recorded Jesus’ teaching His disciples about prayer. Prayer is us talking with God, often asking Him for help, wisdom, healing or protection; but really, we can pray about anything. In fact, God wants us to speak with Him and says we are to ask Him for whatever help we need. Now although this is a very basic and brief statement of prayer, the truth remains  - we can and should talk to God regularly.

Matthew 7:7-11 says “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. "Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"

That is amazing - God says He will answer when we pray. Following the pandemic and during the current cost of living crisis and how it is affecting everyone many are worried about all sorts of things. Again, the Bible tells us in Philippians 4: 6-7 to pray and “present our requests before God”

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

So, with that in mind, if there is anything you would like us as a church to pray for then please email us at prayer@christchurchuk.org.
